Consumers who are eager to mitigate climate change can take many actions, such as by reducing the number of flights they take or installing solar panels on their homes. But the planet is in a race against time and individual action alone won’t help most countries reach net zero by 2050.

The goal is to prevent the planet from warming more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
