Often described as a “mishmash” organisation forever in restructuring, whose performance has been trailing peers for some time, Citigroup has its work cut out as its leadership attempts to explain that this time is different.
In September last year, CEO Jane Fraser announced the group would undergo a major shake-up, simplifying its operations, cutting bureaucracy and jobs. Similar plans had been made by her predecessors.
