1. Customers’ demand for more modern and efficient banking services is on of the main drivers of our strategy. In response to the demand of our customers, we have founded strategies to upgrade our computer systems, extend the branch network and introduce new products like credit cards. These are all considered in our five years strategic plan, which is now in the second year of implementation.

Another main driver of strategy is incidents like Enron/Anderson & WorldCom. Significantly alerting, they have encouraged better house-keeping and the introduction of more sound control systems are targeted.

2. Without our investment in IT, our present achievement of being the leading bank is just impressionable. We have kept our focus on this an an important management issue; IT investments in the African market context can continue to be more effective. The only problem in the medium term is the shortage of IT knowledge particularly among us, the phasing out of managers and the information structure, which is winning attention.
