Keen to dispel the belief long-held by many that it is in any way anti-business, in January the presumed incoming Labour party published a plan for financial services vowing to “unashamedly champion” the UK’s financial sector. 

Sources from across financial services say this party line is consistent with the messaging Labour representatives have been putting forth in private conversations, too.
