The bank continues to increase its promotion of low-cost funding (savings and deposits) since last year with savings deposits up 42.8% to Rp81700bn, while low-cost funding comprises 61.5% of total funding up from 54.2% one year earlier. Most of this growth is due to the continuing expansion of the bank’s electronic banking channels, including ATMs, internet banking and SMS banking; electronic channels completed more than 400 million transactions during the year – more than double the volume passing through the branches.

“The Bank of the Year Award for Indonesia, presented by The Banker, is a singular honour for Bank Mandiri,” says president director and CEO Agus Martwardojo. “We welcome this acknowledgement of our successful efforts to build a solid foundation for future growth in our rapidly expanding domestic markets.

“Our new SBU-based organisation has been complemented by recent acquisitions of specialist lenders in the microcredit and consumer finance segments, and is supported by leading-edge enterprise risk management and technology infrastructure. With an embedded performance-driven culture, shaped by our corporate values of trust, integrity, professionalism, customer focus and excellence, we are poised to outperform our market in the years to come. We would like to thank all of our stakeholders, and look forward to their continued support in our ongoing journey of transformation.”
