The bank puts its success in 2007 down to a fully integrated sales culture, which incorporated all business units and associate companies with a specific focus on cross selling products. Standard Bank Namibia boosted its total retail income through steady management of its pricing, revenue and cost. It also pushed further into the home loans and vehicle and asset finance market.

As the oldest player in the Namibian market Standard Bank has done well to remain fresh and beat off competition from other banks. It boasts the widest network of branches in Namibia with the most ATMs.

The bank also takes its role in the Namibian community seriously. The Standard Bank Foundation was established by the bank to help Namibians through various projects. These include financing a TB ward in Oshakati, awarding bursaries to University of Namibia students and financial assistance to a local orphan’s nutrition project.

“The Standard Bank Namibia operations have been servicing the Namibian community for the past 95 years and although the bank has shown substantial growth in the past year, we are definitely going to up our game for the customers’ benefit with exciting services in the years to come,” says Standard Bank Namibia chief executive Mpumzi Pupuma.
