Teresa Heitsenrether

Teresa Heitsenrether, chief data and analytics officer – JPMorgan

JPMorgan has appointed Teresa Heitsenrether as its chief data and analytics officer. She will lead a newly formed data and analytics organisation focused on driving the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across the bank. 

The appointment comes as part of JPMorgan’s AI push, which CEO Jamie Dimon has called “critical to our company’s future success” in his recent annual letter to shareholders. 

A 35-year JPMorgan veteran, Ms Heitsenrether previously served as the global head of the bank’s securities services business. Under her leadership from 2015 to 2023, she is credited with achieving a revenue increase of more than 22%, a growth of nearly $9tn in assets under custody, and more than doubling the bank’s assets under administration.

From 2012 to 2015, Ms Heitsenrether held the position of global head of prime brokerage at the US bank, overseeing the international expansion and growth of the business. Previously, she served as the European head of prime brokerage from 2011 to 2012 and as the head of prime brokerage product development from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, she held a range of progressively higher responsibilities within JPMorgan’s treasury and fixed income divisions, both in New York and London.

Dana Barsky

Dana Barsky, global head of sustainability strategy and net zero – Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered has appointed Dana Barsky, a former sustainable finance executive at Credit Suisse, as global head of sustainability strategy and net zero. In her new role, Ms Barsky will be responsible for overseeing the bank’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions and fulfil its net-zero commitments. She will also work towards integrating sustainability across all of the bank’s businesses and establishing stronger relationships in the public and private sectors, as well as within civil society. 

Based in Singapore, Ms Barsky will report to Marisa Drew, who was hired as the bank’s first chief sustainability officer in July last year.

Ms Barsky brings more than 25 years of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and sustainability experience. She joins Standard Chartered from her role as president and board member at sustainability-focused special purpose acquisition company Growth for Good. Prior to that, she held a variety of sustainability roles at Credit Suisse, most recently as global head of sustainable finance, where she worked with companies to finance their growth and assist their transition to more environmentally friendly business models.

Reto Faber

Reto Faber, head of securities services for EMEA – Citi

Citi has named Reto Faber as head of securities services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will succeed Maria Cantillon, who has chosen to focus on her EMEA securities services sales responsibilities.

He will report to David Livingstone, CEO for the EMEA region, and Okan Pekin, global head of securities services.

Mr Faber has been with Citi for more than three decades, and currently serves as EMEA head of custody. In addition to joining the EMEA operating committee, he will assume UK senior manager responsibilities for the company’s UK legal entities.

Melissa Tuozzolo

Melissa Tuozzolo, global head of client services, global payments solutions – HSBC

HSBC has rehired Melissa Tuozzolo as its new global head of client services for its global payments solutions (GPS) business. She returns to HSBC from Bank of America, where she led a team responsible for international and financial services payments. Prior to that, she worked at Citi, most recently as head of payments advocacy and financial market infrastructures within its treasury and trade services division.

Ms Tuozzolo first joined HSBC in 2013, becoming North America head of international payments in 2016. She will assume her new role in September, reporting to GPS head Manish Kohli and will be based in New York.

Lisa Francis Lloyds

Lisa Francis, managing director, institutional coverage – Lloyds Bank

Lloyds Bank has appointed Lisa Francis as managing director, institutional coverage within its corporate and institutional banking division. She will work with the UK bank’s product and markets teams to attract more institutional clients and increase the uptake of its products and services as it looks to grow its institutional business. 

Ms Francis joined the division earlier in the year to lead on a strategic delivery project. Prior to that, she spent five years as CEO of UK and Crown Dependencies at Barclays Private Bank. 

Laura Berthout

Laura Berthout, head of payments, SG network France – Société Générale

Société Générale (SG) has appointed Laura Berthout as head of payments for the SG network in France. She will assume her role in mid-July and report to Aurore Gaspar-Colson, deputy head of the SG network in France. 

Ms Berthout will support the development of the retail bank’s payments business and play an important role within its European payments projects. She possesses more than two decades of industry experience and currently serves as director of Société Générale’s African payments division, a business unit she created in 2019.
