US T+1 shift risks ‘phenomenal amount of change’ in Apac

Asia-Pacific investors are bracing for a period of turbulence as the US shifts to a T+1 settlement cycle on May 28, halving investment transaction times from two business days to one.  

The looming change is sending jitters through the $27tn market for foreign-held US securities, as firms scramble to adjust their trade-related operations to meet the shorter settlement cycle.
